The Mountain Moment

Jesus took His three closest disciples — Peter, James, and John — up a high mountain to pray. And then something incredible happened: Jesus was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light!

Then two great figures from the Old Testament appeared: Moses and Elijah. They were actually talking with Jesus! Peter, overwhelmed with wonder, blurted out: "Lord, it's great that we're here! Let us build three shelters!"

While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice from the cloud said: "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased — listen to him!" The disciples fell facedown in fear. Jesus came and touched them: "Get up. Don't be afraid." When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus alone.

💡 "Transfigured" comes from the Greek word metamorphosis — the same word used for a caterpillar becoming a butterfly!
